“Stop expecting, start accepting. Life becomes much easier.” —Buddha
Accepting what is, is no small task. This is an easy practice when life is flowing with ease, but when those bumps and twists meet you on the path of life, acceptance can be the farthest thing from your mind. So you resist and wish things could be different and the result is often times, suffering.
Acceptance can be scary, overwhelming, and especially vulnerable, but it is in the practice of acceptance that you can begin to become the most authentic and beautiful version of you. No one walks a perfect path. Hardship is inevitable and what you resist has a way of persisting. So, consider dancing with and embracing the imperfections of what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. Let expectations fall away and start to hold hands with what it means to accept what is before you, even if it is hard, and at times, painful. While you work towards embracing more acceptance in your own life, also consider extending compassion and releasing judgment of others who may also be struggling. Love more. Be open to accepting who you are and where you are in life; it is after all, just a season. All things in life are temporary.
