“Look at the stars. See their beauty. And in that beauty see yourself.” -Draya Mooney
Sitting under the glow of the stars is a tremendous practice that can evoke a sense of awe and wonder, can reduce stress, improve your mental wellness, and can even improve your sleep. Star bathing is something many can enjoy on a regular basis; the hurdle is simply remembering to step outside once the sun has set. Sitting under a sky full of stars you feel connected to forces greater than yourself and allow an expansiveness to land that can be hard to describe. It is a feeling beyond words.
If you are a city dweller and have light pollution to contend with, you might consider using a star app to find constellations, getting a higher vantage point, or finding a space in a local park that may be a bit darker. It is also helpful to remember that just because you can’t see the stars, they can always see you and you are receiving their gorgeous offering.
The beauty you witness in the night sky also lives within you. You have a luminous microcosm of light that emanates from within. As you look up, remember to also look within. Channel that same beauty and carry that brilliance with you wherever you go. Leave a trail of stardust behind you. Allow the stars to work their magic above and within you. Trust the process.
