“All mental discipline and symmetrical growth are from activity of the mind under the yoke of the will or personal power.” – Mark Hopkins
The practice of yoga is also known as yoking of the mind, body, and spirit. It is from this union of completeness that true wholeness can stem. When one’s mind, body, and spirit are on board and working together there is clarity in life that can help you see more clearly and provide more direction. Uniting in this fashion within yourself and learning to intentionally slow down, calm the mind, and practice living with a heightened awareness will help assist with finding more balance in life.
Leaning on personal willpower and gentle discipline to keep you dedicated to remembering the sweetness of living from a unified place can help deepen integration. Being disciplined doesn’t mean being rigid with whatever practice you choose, it means staying the course in whatever helps you bring all parts of yourself to the table. Yoga is a wonderful avenue for touching base with this, but this can be accomplished with any activity that allows you to bring your whole self to the forefront. Practice yoking the mind, body, and spirit. Ignite curiosity. Seed wholeness.
