TRACE YOUR ROOTS.

“Walking, I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me. Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands.” -Linda Hogan

Look for ways to connect to your ancestors. Read books, connect with other family members who may know your family’s history, ask your parents/ grandparents to share with you stories and ways of life when they were young. These are such rich means of connecting and honoring your heritage and remembering where your roots lie. If you do not know your family’s history opt for current methods of looking at your DNA to see where you come from. This information is humbling and also exciting to explore. Knowing what makes you you is part of our journey and this history should not be forgotten. Be intentional in learning about your origin and don’t forget to share your stories with the next generation.

Make sure to honor traditions that may be loosing footing as we catapult into the future. While we are living in an exciting and ever changing time, it is grounding to look back and pull from some of the more simplistic ways of existing. One idea worth exploring is the intentional act of transitioning in life in a slower way. Be more methodical about how you transition from one activity to the next and infuse mindfulness and ease into your daily life. Instead of rushing, breathe, and know that the next item on your list will be waiting whether you are flying around or making the choice to softly land. Find a pace that may be more in-step with days gone by, even if it’s only one day a week. See if this creates more balance and happiness in how you approach your day. Honor your ancestors. Trace your roots. Find more ease in your everyday.
