LIGHT AND DARK.

“Everyone is a moon, and has a dark side he never shows to anybody.” – Mark Twain

Embracing and accepting yourself exactly as you are can be difficult some days. There are those moments in life when you feel like you are a ray of sunshine and life is going according to plan and then there are those moments where you feel like things are totally off kilter and out of sync. How can we learn to be ok with those moments of insecurity or feeling unsettled? To really love those parts of ourselves that we don’t show to the world. To be ok with us just as we are and to know that sometimes it is in those moments of uncertainty and doubt that we learn the most and continue to grow on our path of humanhood.

The point of this is to learn to love and embrace exactly where you are and to love you for your dark and your light days. Knowing that everyone has ups and downs in daily life is comforting and helpful to remember if you are in a space that feels like it needs to be lifted. Give yourself permission to feel exactly as you do without judgment, as commonly we are our own worst critic. Often times just the change of a day can make all the difference, but if it doesn’t then look for ways to help yourself shift out of a slump. Reach out to someone you are close to, call a sibling or friend, stay in bed and read your favorite book, find stillness, take a hot bath, open a window and feel the breeze, sit with crystals, tap into meditation, order in, or find something that soothes your soul. Instead of feeling down about feeling down, try and look at yourself with loving kindness and remind yourself that all things are temporary and fleeting. This too shall pass. Love you exactly the way you are. Help others that you can see or sense are struggling. Look at yourself and others with compassion. Trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
