PRESENT MOMENT AWARENESS.

“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live.”- Dalai Lama

Talking about living in the present moment is not a new concept. How many times have we heard that we should be living in the here and now? However, I encourage you to think about how often you do. We as humans are so good at living and reliving the past and worrying about what is to come that we forget to see what is right in front of us. Right here, in this moment, is reality.

What happened yesterday doesn’t define you and what is yet to come is but a dream. Don’t make things more than they need to be. Allow yourself to enjoy the essence of you and your life exactly as it is unfolding. You can show up more authentically for others when you are living in the present. Reflect on the ongoing storyline in your mind and examine how much of it is helpful or necessary. See how much of that story is re-hashing what happened yesterday or in the past week, or what might happen tomorrow and see if you can release yourself from being tied to that story. Allow yourself to show up right here, right now. See how it feels to be present. When you find yourself living in the past or in the future, lovingly guide your mind back to now. For when you are free from your stories life can truly begin.
