“Being fully present isn’t something that happens once and then you have achieved it; it’s being awake to the ebb and flow and movement and creation of life, being alive to the process of life itself.” – Pema Chodron
To ebb and flow with life is to let things come and go as they will. To not cling, attach, or avert from life as it happens. Are there places where it might feel nice to soften your edges, to not judge or have pre-convceived notions of how things should happen, but rather let these things happen organically? Look at areas in your life where you can invite more ebb & flow. Self-reflect and see if there are habituated patterns of thought or a daily storyline that is ongoing and perhaps allow space for something new to land.
When we carve out space for things to be just as they are, it allows more room to simply take life in. When we stop doing, controlling, juggling, managing and judging we allow a softening in our hearts to take shape. From here we might gain a new vantage point that perhaps we haven’t seen before. Try looking at life with fresh eyes for a day and see if anything new shows up. Let life happen and just be a passenger and not the driver, if only for a day, to see how things may look or feel from an ‘outside’ perspective. Ebb & flow. Breathe in & release. Embrace life.
