“At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.”- Alan Alda
Intuition is a powerful and guiding tool that lies within each and every one of us. Most have heard the phrase “listen to your gut,” this is an example of using your intuition. Using your intuition requires trust of the unexplainable, but often times it leads you where you are meant to go. How many times have you had the impulse not to do something, but you do it anyway and then realize you should have stuck with your original feeling? Usually the first impulse is the correct one. Start listening to these subtle cues. It is a practice to get a feel for listening to your heart and letting your mind take the back burner. So many of us want to please others, feel pulled to do certain things, or simply do not know how to say no or yes to certain situations. Tap into what feels right and worry less about what it may look like from an outside perspective. Stop overthinking and let your conscious awareness relax.
Using intuition doesn’t mean to stop thinking about life’s choices, but rather trying on a new approach if the opportunity arises. It isn’t practical to make unconscious choices from sunrise to sunset, but rather keep an open mind and start practicing your instincts. They are there even if they have been lying dormant for years. If something feels really right, then go for it! Reversely, if you are presented with something that feels really wrong, honor that feeling and walk away or pause and really think through the situation. Begin to dive deep within yourself and see where intuition may serve you more throughout your day and throughout your life. Discover your inner voice. Deepen your intuition. Connect with you.
